The 9 Principles

Historical route: http://www.tracyskarate.com/Way/9principles.htm
Historical reconstruction: This page is stored locally. Where the original copyrighted page is not available for republication, the text is a locally authored reconstruction.

The exact wording of the original recovered page has not been reproduced. This reconstruction uses the surrounding classic-site headings to present nine practical principles for modern Kenpo study.

A reconstructed nine-point framework

1. Train consistently. 2. Think honestly. 3. Study other arts without losing your foundation. 4. Develop intuitive judgment. 5. Improve perception. 6. Pay attention to details. 7. Remove useless motion. 8. Adapt without abandoning structure. 9. Accept responsibility for what you teach.

Principles need pressure

A principle is not proven because it sounds wise. It must survive drills, partner practice, fatigue, timing changes and honest correction.
