Kenpo Karate Family Tree

No single chart can capture every Kenpo relationship. This page shows the central teacher-student chain emphasized in Tracy historical sources and then points outward to parallel branches.

Read this as a relationship map

The core Tracy account runs from James Mitose to William K. S. Chow, from Chow to Ed Parker, and from Parker to the Tracy brothers. Each of those nodes also connects to other students and systems.

A family tree is not ownership

Teacher-student relationships can overlap. Practitioners cross-trained, changed organizations and created new systems. The diagram therefore shows influence rather than exclusive ownership of a tradition.
