How to Read a Historical Reconstruction
new reconstruction article

A reconstruction is not a time machine. It is an argument built from surviving evidence, gaps and editorial choices.
Historical reconstruction: This is newly written editorial material based on surviving Tracy-family accounts, public historical references and the recovered structure of the classic site. It is not presented as verbatim text from the original website.
Recovered
A recovered item has a surviving title, path, image, document or capture that can be independently checked.
Reconstructed
A reconstructed item fills a gap using original writing based on documented context. It should never be presented as a quotation from the lost page.
Lineage account
A lineage account records what a participant or organization says happened. It is valuable evidence, but it may reflect memory, loyalty and later interpretation.
Sources & editorial notes
These sources help document the historical reconstruction. Some are lineage-specific accounts and should be read as such.
